Folks, my seldom used near mint condition Tecsun 880 suddenly stopped receiving AM signals.
Wasn't dropped, power surged, exposed to heat or cold, soaked or anything like that.
All I get is a hiss, which could be the domestic electrical noise. db indicators are 00.
FM still works.
Reddit has a post from years ago describing the same problem. But no suggestions or solution were posted
other than 'maybe some soldering needed'.
Famous Dr. Vlado points it may be a temparature problem and suggests to keep the unit warmer for a while.
Anna of Anon-co suggested taking out the battery and draining all internal charge for 24 hrs and see if this helps.
However, warning that there is slim chance. I owe her thanks as she offered asking Tecsun engineers for a likely cause for me.
Any ideas from members?

Az kullandığım, neredeyse yepyeni Tecsun 880'im birden AM sinyallerini almaz oldu.

The legendary Sweden Calling DX'ers was created by the late Arne Skoog and broadcast on Tuesdays on Radio Sweden's shortwave programs. I had the pleasure of both listening to and participating in the program, as well as corresponding with Arne himself. When he retired and left the editing to his associates, the program continued on a while and eventually bowed to the circumstances. The program bulletin, called SCDX and printed on a special yellow paper, was sent to the contributors by snail-mail every two weeks. Some of these can be accessed on the web. For example, http://www.dxarchive.com/pdf/scdx_1576_1...l_1980.pdf [A pic of one from the '80s is attached.
]
Wikipedia has this on Sweden Calling DX'ers: "Sweden Calling DXers was a radio program on Radio Sweden, founded in 1948 by Arne Skoog.[1] He reasoned that shortwave listening or DXing was a very young hobby, and that by providing information in a weekly program for shortwave listeners about their hobby, Radio Sweden was teaching its own audience about how to listen better. While the first program was based solely on Arne's own listening, listeners were encouraged to write in with their own news, and soon virtually all of the program was based on listener's letters (an early example of interactivity). The program was aired on Tuesdays in all of Radio Sweden's services (i.e. languages) except Swedish."
Radio Sweden still allocates ample space to DX'in in all its aspects, but unfortunately, the content is in Swedish: http://www.sdxf.se/WP/
